Iqbal Hussain is a recipient of the inaugural London Writers’ Awards 2018. His debut novel, Northern Boy, was published in 2024 by Unbound Firsts. It was announced at the Bologna book festival that Puffin Press will be publishing his first children’s novel in February 2026, The Night I Borrowed Time. The book focuses on divorce and the Indian Partition, all wrapped in a time-travelling novel filled with world-building and humour. We spoke to him about his process and inspirations!
