Junior Designer – Octopus

Closing Date: 14 April

Salary: £24,000-26,000


Octopus are looking for a Junior Designer to join their team!


You will be working across illustrated and narrative titles and coordinating design work for both frontlist and backlist titles. You will also be managing and producing contracts and invoices as well as producing sales and marketing material. The successful candidate will be working alongside a multi-disciplined team in a creative and dynamic environment, utilising a wide variety of essential design skills to reach the widest possible readership.


The ideal candidate will be passionate about Illustrated and non-fiction books, with a desire to create design excellence that enhances their broad list of titles and speaks to their diverse readership. You should be able to deliver high-quality design across a varied range of subject areas, markets and products, have good organisational and planning skills and be able to work successfully in a team. You will ideally also have some knowledge of pre-press and printing procedures as well as being an expert Mac user.

Facilities Assistant & Assistant to the Senior Leadership Team – Bonnier Books UK

Bonnier Books are looking for an organised individual to be their new facilities assistant and assistant to the senior leadership team!


You’ll be assisting with general admin tasks, helping with orders, bookings and enquiries. Tasks also include greeting guests, filing, booking meeting rooms and taking minutes. You’ll also be liaising with their building managers, assisting with organising and booking events, making travel arrangements and assisting with diary management.


You must have great communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, be a collaborative, proactive self-starter and team player and be proficient with using Microsoft Office.

Sales Assistant – Abrams & Chronicle Books Ltd

Salary: £22,000

Location: London (currently working on a hybrid basis)


The sales assistant will be supporting the sales team with tasks and reporting to the gift and special sales director.


Tasks include processing orders, managing customer mailings, handling queries, looking after the order database platform and sending catalogues. You will also be assisting with coordinating information, order forms and sell-sheets, sending out samples and providing documents such as images and data. The candidate will also be assisting with organising trade shows.


You must have good organisational and time management skills, be able to multitask, have good attention to detail and communication skills. You must be enthusiastic, be able to work as part of a team, have a love for their products and a can-do attitude. Admin experience is also desirable.

Editorial Assistant – Orion Publishing Group

Salary: £24,000-£27,000

Location: London (hybrid work available)


Orion Publishing Group are looking for an organised, creative and adaptable editorial assistant to join their commercial and genre fiction team!


Tasks include handling the production of their titles, overseeing schedules, managing manuscripts and general system admin. You will also be helping with updating authors of important information such as publication plans and sales and sending out proofs and finished copies. You will be assisting with creating copy, marketing materials, metadata and keywords for their books. You’ll be scheduling meetings, taking minutes, reporting on and reading submissions and an opportunity to learn about editing, copy and more!


The candidate will be passionate about commercial and genre fiction, have excellent organisational and communication skills as well as brilliant attention to detail and be keen to learn and develop their skills.

Junior Data Administrator – Hachette UK

Hachette UK is looking for a Junior Data Administrator to join their IT team!


You will be acting as a key component in the transfer of data from their legacy systems into their new Royalties solution. Reporting to the Business Process Architect, you will be responsible for supporting all Hachette divisions with various data cleansing and validation exercises.


The ideal candidate will be a highly organised team player who can bring insight and an analytical eye to prioritised tasks that you will be working on. You will possess excellent communication skills, be comfortable with working with Excel and have a natural problem-solving attitude.

Publishing Intern – Head of Zeus

The Aria imprint at Head of Zeus is looking for a publishing intern!


You will be learning the ins and outs of publishing from acquisition to publication. You will gain a 360 editorial perspective on trade publishing, from acquisition to publication and backlist strategy. In particular, you will learn desk editing, publishing strategy and copywriting as well as marketing and acquisition strategy. Your responsibilities will include updating AIs, drafting cover copy and creating marketing and sales material.


The ideal candidate will be energetic, responsible and organised. You will also have excellent communication and written skills, be able to prioritise a busy workload and have an interest in popular fiction.
