Trending Titles Book Club, Waterstones, Nottingham

Wednesday 31 January, 6:30 p.m.


Wrap up this January with the warmth of a Sunday Times bestseller and a welcoming crowd interested in debating it with you! The Trending Titles Book Club meets every last Wednesday of the month to discuss the biggest book of the moment. And for January they have chosen Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann. If you haven’t read it yet, this non-fiction piece addresses one of the first major cases investigated by the FBI, involving mystery, murder and money. It is your opportunity to either join the club and discuss all about it or if you have not read it, attend anyways to fall in love with a bookworm community you can continue to show up to as much as you want. Young Adult Book Group, Waterstones, Exeter – Roman Gate

Everyone is welcome at this YA Book Group held in the cafe at Waterstones in Exeter. Is The Hunger Games on your to-be-read list? Maybe it’s been watching you from your bookshelf while you’ve been distracted by new releases. In Conversation with Nina Kaye, Waterstones, Edinburgh – Fort Kinnaird

Saturday 3 February, 4:00–5:00 p.m.


Join local Edinburgh author Nina Kaye for a discussion on her books, including One Night in Edinburgh, Just Like That and her upcoming novel Stand Up Guy. She will talk about her methods and ideas and answer audience questions. Her novels are thought to be heart-warming page-turners with a focus on navigating romantic relationships. An Evening with JP Maxwell, Waterstones, Liverpool

Monday 5 February, 6:30–8:00 p.m.


Join Mike Hollows in Waterstones Liverpool to celebrate JP Maxwell’s debut novel, Water Street. “Liverpool 1863. The American Civil War comes to the British Empire’s second city and the world’s richest port …” JP Maxwell has a varied background including studying Russian at University College London, running a newspaper kiosk and working for a Californian Software company. He has been in Liverpool since 2001 and teaches Screenwriting and Digital Writing at Liverpool John Moores University. Adrian Tchaikovsky & RJ Barker in Conversation, Waterstones, Leeds

Monday 5 February, 6:30 p.m.


Leeds-based bestselling author Adrian Tchaikovsky will be discussing his latest publication, the fantasy novel The House of Open Wounds. Released December 2023, The House of Open Wounds is the follow-up sequel to the City of Last Chances, a British Science Fiction Association award winner in 2022. Tchaikovsky will be joining in conversation with RJ Barker, a local writer of The Bone Ships. Barker was the winner of the British Fantasy Society Best Novel with The Bone Ships. Both writers will be discussing Tchaikovsky's latest release, keeping the conversation to fantasy, writing and any other inquiries the public might want to come up with. Book Launch Break Through by Mark Fennell, Waterstones, Dublin – Hodges Figgis
