Editorial Assistant (12 Months FTC) at Little, Brown Book Group

Want to work in one of the biggest publishing divisions of Hachette? Do you have an interest in non-fiction and are interested in working across broad topics? A rare opportunity at PCR (Piaktus, Constable and Robinson) non-fiction has opened for an Editorial Assistant!


This entry-level position will have you work across three imprints – Piaktus, Constable and Robinson non-fiction – offering opportunities to assist on each diverse list. You will be supporting the friendly editorial team with their admin and ensuring everything is running smoothly through your organisation, all the while picking up essential skills as an editor. While working across a variety of commercial and specialist non-fiction, there will be training provided for any unfamiliar systems and processes.


The ideal candidate will have an interest in forging a career in non-fiction publishing and be organised, proactive and willing to work alongside a large team under pressure. Admin and IT skills would be useful for operating around the role, including Word and Excel. It is essential the candidate has a strong knowledge of grammar and spelling, as well as a keen eye for detail.


The role is based at their London office, Carmelite House, under a hybrid system of three days in-office.

Editorial and Production Assistant at Search Press

They are looking for a creative, highly organised Editorial and Production Assistant to join their team in producing these beautiful books.

As Editorial and Production Assistant, you will gain thorough training in all aspects of editorial work whilst also playing a key role in the production team, reporting directly to the Publishing Director and Production Manager. Responsibilities vary from general administrative tasks (such as processing and filing invoices and contracts, tracking author payments, updating bibliographic data, organising meetings and keeping minutes) to editorial tasks (such as curating sales material for international book fairs, proofreading, checking proofs, writing copy and coordinating editorial reprints) and more!

This position is based full-time in their Tunbridge Wells office, with full training provided for the successful candidate. If you are a creative, organised individual with an eye for detail looking to get your first role in the publishing industry, then this opportunity is for you!

Orion Virtual Internship

Location: Remote 


Looking to gain some publishing experience this summer? Then look no further, Hachette has got you covered! Orion, a division of Hachette UK and home to bestselling authors, has opened applications for its eight-week Virtual Summer Internship. 

This paid, fully remote internship is tailored towards career-changers, or those who have spent some time away from work, wishing to dip their toes into the publishing world. As part of the scheme, there’s also an exciting opportunity to attend an in-person day at one of Hachette’s regional offices.


The interns will be placed within a department – such as Marketing, Editorial or Publicity – where they will contribute to projects as well as attend internal meetings and meet senior leaders from across the company. 


Though you do not need to have a publishing background, applicants should have a passion for storytelling and aspire to gain new skills. Orion values proactive candidates with a strong work ethic, ready to get stuck in and ask questions.
