Foreign Rights Assistant at Quarto

Closing Date: 1 August 2025

Salary: £25,500

Location: London


Do you know more than one language? Want to use your linguistic skills for a creative role? Quarto has opened a position for Foreign Rights Assistant on their Rights children’s team!


The candidate for this entry-level role will be an invaluable member of the team, helping to increase foreign rights sales and co-editions for Quarto’s children’s booklist. Individual tasks include liaising with sales and editorial departments to deliver the latest updates to the Rights team, tracking book stocks and maintaining databases, creating marketing tools, helping prepare for meetings and assisting at book fairs.


The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, able to prioritise deadlines across multiple projects and adapt to new tools and databases, including Microsoft Office. Additionally, being fluent in languages from the South/Mediterranean markets or French would be desirable.


The role is based at their London office under a hybrid model of four days in-office.

Assistant Production Editor at Boydell & Brewer

Boydell & Brewer, an independent, employee-owned, academic publisher based in Suffolk are seeking an Assistant Production Editor to join their Production department, helping to bring high-quality academic content to a global audience.

As Assistant Production Editor, you will be responsible for dealing with all stages of publication, from final manuscript through to press ready, ensuring the smooth flow of production. You will utilise an XML Workflow in the publication process, prepare print and eBook files using InDesign and carry out other general admin tasks. Communication is key as you will be managing relationships with authors, liaising with freelancers and working in their busy Production department.


The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills and be great at organising and prioritising tasks. Self-motivation, willingness to take on responsibilities, attention to detail and professionalism are all paramount to this role. A good honours degree, general office experience and previous publishing experience are desirable but not essential, as is knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

Senior Editor at Sweet Cherry Publishing

Location: Leicester (can be remote)

Looking for a remote editorial role? Consider applying to Sweet Cherry Publishing, a Leicester-based publishing house that specialises in children’s books, for the position of Senior Editor!


Day-to-day responsibilities include copy-editing and proofreading projects ready to go to press and evaluating manuscripts, so the ability to work with various style guides is essential. As Senior Editor, you must be an adaptable team player and an effective communicator, as you will be working with the Design team to ensure imagery aligns with the author’s vision. You will also be liaising with the Sales and Marketing departments to ensure materials, such as blurbs, are up to date.


The ideal candidate will have experience as an editor in a publishing house and also possess commercial awareness of the children’s book market. You must be confident in reaching out to external contacts, as you will be negotiating contracts and communicating with authors to discuss deadlines and creative concepts. For a small publishing house, the Senior Editor will hold a lot of responsibility, so you must have excellent organisation skills.
