Are you a graduate or someone wanting a career switch into publishing? Want to experience key roles in the industry at a top UK publishing house? Hachette UK has opened eleven spaces for interns across Editorial, Publicity, Marketing and Communications.
Whether you are entry-level or mid-career, you will be designated across your assigned tasks while learning about the publishing process over the course of twelve months. There will be two separate roles candidates can choose from:
In Marketing, Publicity and Communications, you will be assisting on a range of administrative tasks and campaigns, alongside being a part of roles such as the influencer outreach programme. Skills include: social media and commercial knowledge, being detail orientated and having a knack for copywriting.
In Editorial, you will be working with editors and designers to solidify your knowledge on developing books. Skills include: being a confident writer and communicator of the English language, a great problem solver and being customer focused.
The ideal candidates will be excited to pave a career for themselves in the industry, while aligning with Hachette’s values. You will be ready to dive into any project and learn the ropes of your role while being organised and have great attention to detail.

International Sales Assistant at Quarto

Are you keen to help inspire readers globally? Are you excited at the prospect of international travel being part of your job? Well, look no further! Quarto, a global illustrated book publishing group, are seeking an International Sales Assistant to support their international sales team from their vibrant London office.
The International Sales Assistant will focus on developing and strengthening relationships in Australia, New Zealand and Asia, contributing to successful sales, as well as providing essential administrative support. The position will require collaboration with other teams, particularly production and operations to ensure direct sales are processed quickly and smoothly. Collaborating with other internal teams, you will also create high-quality sales materials. Other responsibilities include coordinating the distribution of these materials across titles, supporting external partner agencies and liaising with various departments both in and outside of the UK.
To be a successful candidate, you will demonstrate proactive communication skills, organisation, meticulous attention to detail and critical thinking skills. You will be able to provide top quality customer service to internal and external partners, monitor and manage admin across the International Sales Department, show project management skills to balance multiple projects and tasks, and finally, display commercial awareness that will demonstrate your ability to contribute to the success of the sales team.
