Production Assistant, Children’s Division - Bloomsbury Publishing

Closing Date: 31 March

Salary: £24,000

Location: London (Flexible home working available)


Bloomsbury Publishing Plc is looking for a highly organised and motivated individual to join their very busy children’s production department as Production Assistant.


You will be working closely with Bloomsbury’s in-house editorial, design, and sales and marketing departments, and with external suppliers (onshore and offshore) to ensure that all reprints and co-editions are produced on schedule, to high quality standards and within controlled budgets. Duties include costing and processing reprints, handling backlist e-book creation and providing administrative support to the team.


The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and time-management skills, proven IT skills (knowledge of Word and Excel essential) and a keen eye for detail. Some production experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

Sales and Marketing Administrator/Apprentice - David and Charles Ltd

Closing Date: 1 April

Salary: £18,000

Location: Exeter (Flexible home working available)


David and Charles are an international publisher of beautifully illustrated books, specialising in arts and crafts. They are looking for a Sales and Marketing Administrator, with the potential for this role to be an apprenticeship in partnership with Exeter College.


You will be providing general support to David and Charles’ UK and international sales teams through briefing and collating sales materials, organising catalogues and providing general support for customers. You will also be supporting attendance at trade and consumer exhibitions, liaising with external organisers, internal design and sales colleagues, potentially with the opportunity to attend UK based exhibitions. The role will include responsibilities to update third party customer websites with sales and marketing information.


The ideal candidate will be energetic, with a passion for working in sales and marketing. You should also be well organised, have an eye for detail, be competent with Microsoft Office tools and confident to learn new business systems. Basic copywriting skills are required and the role has outward-facing elements, requiring good communication skills.

Procurement Administrative Assistant - HarperCollins Publishers

Closing Date: 30 March, 17:00 p.m.

Salary: £25,000

Location: London


HarperCollins are looking for a Procurement Administrative Assistant to join them in their London office either on a full time or part time basis. You will be working with the production book printing team on administrative tasks such as paper stock reports, raising and receipting purchase orders, checking and approving invoices and general enquiries. You will also be assisting researching on book printers as well as environmental specifications and standards, liaising with controllers, directors and suppliers and answering general enquiries.


You need to have experience in an administrative role, have good attention to detail, be able to prioritise your workload as well as meeting deadlines. You need to have had previous experience of using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and bespoke systems/databases.

Production Assistant, Children’s Books - Sweet Cherry

Sweet Cherry Publishing are looking for a Production Assistant to work with their children’s team!


You’ll be working with the Production Manager with monitoring project schedules, gain valuable experience and work with a tight knit team.


You will have a willingness to learn and getting involved in the creation of their books, be passionate about making books more accessible for children of all abilities and have great organisational and time management skills. You will also be organised, enthusiastic, be a fast learner, be confident in using your communication skills in various ways and have some commercial awareness as well as mathematics and currency skills.

Journals Commissioning Assistant - Emerald Publishing

Closing Date: 1 April

Salary: £21,073–£28, 837

Location: Bingley


Emerald Publishing is looking for someone to join their Journals team as a Commissioning Assistant for a fixed term eight month contract.


You will be providing dedicated support to a small number of commissioning editors and work across a range of allocated subject portfolios providing administrative support, conducting market research to inform portfolio growth and development and deputising for commissioning editors in their absence.


Duties include engaging in a range of administrative functions including preparing publishing reports, updating journal homepages and working on journal development plans. You will also assist the Commissioning Editor or Senior Commissioning Editor in carrying out individual research projects as directed, support marketing and social media promotion and arrange conference materials. Emerald Publishing is looking for someone who actively seeks opportunities to be involved in projects.


The ideal candidate will have good written and interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills. Publishing experience, marketing experience or work experience within a commercial environment is advantageous.
