Production Assistant at Priddy Books

Salary: £25,000

Location: London


Priddy Books, children's publisher of baby, pre-school and novelty books, is looking for someone to join their production team in an entry-level Production Assistant role.


Reporting to the Production Manager, the role involves ordering reprints and co-editions, liaising with printers and close collaboration with the rest of the production team. Editorial Assistant at Triglyph Books

Closing Date: 30 April 2023

Salary: £23,000–£28,000

Location: Sussex


A wonderful opportunity to join Triglyph Book, a high-end illustrated book publishing house, as an Editorial Assistant has arisen!


If successful with your application, you will be tasked with responsibilities such as helping revise manuscripts, proofreading, preparing manuscripts to be sent to other departments, communicating with authors, answering internal and external queries and general administrative tasks.


The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication abilities, good time management, interpersonal skills, initiative, a creative mind, great organisational skills and the ability to work well in a team. Membership Administrator at The Society of Authors

Salary: £22,500

Location: London (possibility of hybrid working after training)


The UK’s largest trade union for authors, translators and illustrators is looking for someone to join their Member Services team as a Membership Administrator.


This position will be in charge of answering all queries that The Society of Authors (SoA) receives over the phone and by email. The Membership Administrator will additionally assist the team with implementing a new membership database. A few other duties include, but are not limited to, helping prospective members join the SoA, processing applications, keeping track of subscription payments and sending reminders out as needed, handling Direct Debits and working with Mailchimp.


The SoA is searching for an individual who possesses strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, good task and time management and someone who feels comfortable on the phone and exhibits a friendly manner. Prior experience with database software, Office 365 and WordPress are all beneficial for this role but not essential. Faber Academy Online Assistant at Faber & Faber

Faber Academy is looking for an organised, empathetic digital professional with a demonstrable interest in creative writing to join them as a new Academy Online Assistant! Faber Academy is a thriving creative writing school, with an increasingly broad offering of resources for aspiring and improving writers.


This position will focus on ensuring the smooth running of the Academy’s online operations in every aspect, drafting copy and formatting extracts from novels. The role will also require someone to build online courses and upload media as well as interacting with students and tutors and researching Zoom add-ons.

Creative Access and Penguin Random House Mentoring Programme 2023

Creative Access and Penguin Random House have joined forces to create a fantastic opportunity for those interested in working in the publishing sector. This particular opportunity is an unpaid mentoring programme and it is an exceptional chance for someone interested in the publishing sector to get a mentor in the industry and learn more about the publishing world in general. Ninety lucky mentees will be chosen to take on this virtual mentoring programme that will introduce you to Penguin Random House’s various teams. There will be opportunities to learn about editorial, design, production, sales, marketing, publicity, human resources and more! Candidates will be matched to the area that they hope to progress their career in as best as possible.


The six month programme will focus on under-represented individuals over the age of eighteen with an interest in publishing and would like to gain relevant experience and make contacts within the industry. You’ll need to be able to attend monthly virtual sessions with your mentor as well as a virtual Meet and Greet in June 2023.
