Production Assistant, Academic and Professional Production at Bloomsbury

Closing Date: 9 June 2021

Location: London (hybrid)


Are you keen to enter the production and editorial side of publishing? Well here’s an opportunity for you.


Bloomsbury are looking for a new Production Assistant in their Academic and Professional sector. This role is based in London, with a hybrid working environment. Within this role, you will have to upload and distribute various files using Bloomsbury’s digital-asset management system. Also, you will have to perform some desk-editorial and print-publishing work on reprints and new-in paperbacks, as well as providing much support to the administration team.


The desired candidate will be organised and have excellent time-management skills. They will also have a keen eye for detail and sharp IT skills (including the use of Microsoft Office).


This is an entry-level position and would be the perfect role for someone looking to enter the publishing industry as a first-timer. Editorial and publishing experience is desired but not essential!

A list of duties conducted by the Sales Assistant include, but are not limited to, assisting with general administration tasks for the Children’s sales team, liaising with the operations and warehouse teams, creating presentations for groups within the company and those outside and compiling and releasing weekly reports.

Marketing and Office Support Intern at David Fickling Books

Here is a part-time internship at David Fickling Books (DFB) for those looking for a more temporary role. This internship is six months long and consists of one to two days spent working in-office at Oxford.


The selected individual will assist with press queries, mailing material for promotions, support the Marketing team with sale requests, keep an eye on national and regional review coverage, help create and release social media and website content and general office administration.


As this is an entry-level internship, no prior experience in the publishing field is required. DFB wants someone who is up for jumping from task to task in order to get a full picture of the publishing world.
