Bloomsbury is looking for an enthusiastic apprentice with a keen interest in starting a career in the publishing industry to join their busy Marketing and Publicity department. The Special Interest Marketing and Publicity team work across fifteen different non-fiction adult imprints at Bloomsbury including Business, Health & Wellbeing, Nautical, Outdoors, Popular Science, Religion, Sport and Wildlife – this role would work across all imprints and so will cover a wide variety of subjects and require different levels of campaigns, carrying out tasks across both disciplines.

Editorial Assistant Apprentice, Adult Trade, at Bloomsbury

Is editorial more your style? You’re in luck. Bloomsbury is searching for another apprentice to join their Editorial Team in the Adult Trade division. If you want to get your first taste of the Publishing Industry and a chance to learn about how an independent publishing house operates, then this could be for you.
Some of the tasks you will be completing include writing draft cover briefs, drafting book blurbs, designing show cards and flyers, proofreading materials and much more!
You’ll need excellent organisational, timekeeping and multi-tasking skills for this role, as well as great attention to detail and a keenness to collaborate.

Academic Editorial Apprentice, Visual Arts, at Bloomsbury

Another of Bloomsbury’s apprenticeships is within their Visual Arts editorial team.
A few responsibilities outlined for this position include putting together cover briefs and copies, reaching out for peer reviews, ordering copies of books and physical and electronic file management.
The ideal apprentice will possess an interest in the academic side of publishing, have an awareness of the market and care deeply about the relationships the company has with authors and customers.

The next apprenticeship open at Bloomsbury will assist the Editorial Team with items pertaining to International Development, Politics, Asia, African and Middle East Studies.
The selected candidate will work closely with the Editorial, Marketing and Production teams in order to provide the best service possible for customers and authors. The apprentice will assist the team with file and data management using Biblio, tracking any changes to projects and making sure the changes fit the specific project timeframe, receive and respond to queries from those in and outside of the company and complete general administrative tasks as needed.
