This six-month fixed term contract with Penguin Random House (PRH) to be a Rights Administrator within their royalties team is an exciting opportunity to work with a huge publishing company. This is a rare opportunity to work with one of the Big Five!
The role includes ensuring payments and invoices from third parties are recorded correctly and then accounted to the correct author or agent by undertaking a variety of administrative tasks. These tasks include liaising with payees and internal departments, investigating unidentified cash receipts, processing cash receipts on the daily, as well as reviewing and downloading royalty statements from third party royalty portal systems.
The ideal candidate will preferably have strong administrative experience and good skills with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. You will need to be a good team player and capable of working solo. If you have experience with processing royalties or another high volume transaction business area, this will give you a step up from other candidates – although this is not essential. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Orion division at Hachette UK as an Editorial Assistant. This full time role will be a Monday-to-Friday job with the opportunity to work hybrid with a blend of three office days in London and two at home. The Orion Publishing Group publishes commercial, award winning popular fiction and non-fiction works.
The role will involve working closely with a publisher and an editor on all areas of the publishing process. You will provide support to a publisher by handling the production of all upcoming books such as booking copy edits, proofreads and collating proofs. It will also involve booking calls and meetings and taking minutes to help manage project publications and campaigns. As the title suggests, you will also provide editorial support by reading submissions and shadow editing.

Bath-based children's book publisher Curious Universe UK Ltd are looking for a Publishing Data Administrator. The company publishes all sorts of books for the younger generation such as activity books, colouring books, story books, sticker books and more!
Being a Publishing Data Administrator with Curious Universe will include assisting the Publishing Data and E-Commerce Manager in implementing and maintaining operations within their Publishing department. You will create and run various Excel spreadsheets as well as new project briefing documents. Keeping the database up to date with each new publication will be your responsibility.
The role is suitable for someone interested in joining or developing their skills in the publishing industry. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft software, especially in Excel, ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar.
