Creative Internships at Grayling

Closing Date: 27 May 2024

Salary: £24,600

Location: London and Manchester

Do you have a passion for creativity? Ready to learn essential skills for a marketing and communications career in publishing? Grayling, a global PR and Communications company, are searching for two Creative Interns, one Design and Content Intern and one Social and Digital Intern to join them for a two-month period in the summer.

These internships will be involved with the Grayling creative team in design and social media marketing. Your main duties will depend on the type of internship but for Creative Interns you will be supporting the team in developing and executing ideas across multiple platforms (for existing and new clients), participating in weekly brainstorming sessions, monitoring news and trends whilst keeping on top of industry campaigns.

You should have a keen interest in marketing, a good understanding of media and an idea of the stories that you want to write about. Communication is vital; your written and spoken communications should be superb. Grayling wants you to be brimming with new ideas and able to demonstrate an understanding of digital tools that can enhance their creative work.

The successful Social and Digital Intern will be crafting, writing and managing social media content across multiple platforms and incorporating this with other digital media marketing techniques to engage audiences. You will also be expected to analyse digital metrics to gauge success and identify needed improvements. For this internship, Grayling is looking for someone with a natural interest in social media, a basic understanding of developing content and a creative mindset.

Design and Content Interns will be assisting with the design of digital assets, including social media graphics, brochures and campaign visuals, ensuring brand consistency throughout. You will be learning to translate client needs and branding strategies into design strategies. There is a mentorship scheme with this internship which will see you take part in workshops to hone your technical and artistic ability. For this position, you need to be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and have a strong visual aesthetic skill with excellent attention to detail. You should be prepared to collaborate and show this by submitting a portfolio demonstrating your design capabilities with your application.

The internships will begin 1 July 2024. There are two Creative Intern positions, one in each of the Manchester and London offices. In addition, the Social and Digital intern will be based in Manchester and the Design and Content Intern will be based in London. All positions are hybrid roles working three days in-office.
