The Publishing Post and Bonnier Books UK’s staff network Empower are teaming up to host a double-header of "Work In Publishing" events for those eager to learn about the variety of roles in publishing and how a book is taken from manuscript to publication.
Held on Monday 16 June and Tuesday 24 June, the events will see colleagues across Bonnier Books UK offer unique insight into the industry, share "days in the life," and provide top tips for working in their respective departments. Both events will be virtual to cater for aspiring candidates, junior professionals and career-changers up and down the country.
The events will include participants from across a multitude of departments - ranging from editorial to design, rights to audio, and marketing to sales – providing informative and engaging evenings for all who attend. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit their questions in advance and engage directly with speakers on the night. There will also be a CV and cover letter Q&A portion of the evening for those looking for advice on crafting their job submissions.
Both events will run from 6:30–8 p.m. To book your ticket for one of the events, please click here.
The newly rebranded "Empower," a staff inclusivity and representation network at Bonnier Books UK, are excited to lift the curtain on the publishing industry, sharing: "We believe transparency is the first step toward true inclusivity. By opening up the industry and sharing experiences across departments, we hope to empower the next generation of publishing professionals to see themselves in this space. We're thrilled to be working with The Publishing Post to ensure candidates across the country have the chance to explore which role in publishing might be right for them."
