TL Swan to Launch Keeperton for Digital First Authors

By Medha Godbole Singh

Keeperton, a new publishing venture from T L Swan, is a fresh addition to those opportunities available to writers. It is primarily for current digital-first authors, offering them the ability to distribute print versions of their work into bookstores while maintaining digital rights.

T L Swan, known for her Miles High Club romance series, announced that Keeperton will be launched in August 2024. The company is geared to launch its inaugural imprint across the UK, Australia, and the USA with Arndell. Arndell will specialise in romance fiction. The expansion plans involve the introduction of imprints dedicated to crime and thriller, non-fiction and fantasy.

Arndell plans to publish four frontlist and six backlist titles in its inaugural year and will be distributed by Simon and Schuster. Swan has already secured global distribution through Simon and Schuster, starting 1 May 2024. The first frontlist title to be published by Arndell will be Swan's new novel The Bonus, scheduled for a 13 August US publication. There will be an exclusive print edition featuring bonus chapters, which will not be available in the digital format. Additionally, Arndell will also be publishing the Mr. series by Swan soon after the release of The Bonus for international readership. The company is keen on increasing the number of titles by publishing six to eight frontlist titles under Arndell annually. It is also gearing up to publish six to eight titles via other imprints. Keeperton will ensure that all its titles are available in print and aim to form book deals with print rights.

The gauntlet of carrying the imprint and its smooth operation has been handed over to Kellie Clarke, appointed as the General Manager. Christine Bendorf, Head of Acquisitions and Strategy, and Keeley Doherty, Head of Publishing Operations, will be supporting her.

Swan is thrilled about the new venture and stated that Keeperton’s main aim is to promote the creation of future bestsellers by empowering authors. She wants to offer the necessary support and resources to authors to achieve their publishing goals.

Michael Perlman, Senior Vice-President, and General Manager of Simon & Schuster Publisher Services is equally delighted to be associated with TL Swan and Keeperton.
