The role expects you to be proactive in keeping updated on the market and non-fiction trends. Under the direction of Emma Bal, you will eventually build your unique author list to expand upon the agency’s existing non-fiction database. Other responsibilities include critically engaging in book ideas where you will foster your attention to detail in assessing submission standards and build a relationship with authors. You will also be assisting with running the non-fiction department in administrating contracts, chasing payments, performing website admin, editorial support and many more.
The successful candidate will show ambition and determination for all types of non-fiction books and is best suited for someone with prior junior-level publishing experience with the idea to upskill. You will be adept at admin with strong organisation and communication skills that lend a hand to growing a writer’s career and actively discovering new voices.
The role is hybrid, with flexible working hours, and is held in their London office. Digital Creative (Copywriter and Content Creator) at Forward Action

Do you consider yourself an expert copywriter? Do you want to contribute to powerful digital campaigns? Forward Action, an agency that drives real-world change such as the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, is seeking a Copywriter and Content Creator to join its close-knit team.
This complex role has multiple responsibilities such as helping with creative strategy, where you’ll produce Facebook ads or email campaigns. Therefore, you must have expertise in email strategy and social media ads. The successful applicant will be passionate about digital tools such as Canva to deliver visually engaging ads, so design skills are desirable. Effective AI prompting to enhance outputs is a key part of the role, so having a creative mind to generate new ideas is essential. Furthermore, having a solid understanding of online user experience would help analyse data from Google Analytics. In terms of copywriting, you will contribute to emails, ads, hand-raisers and more, so a proven track record of writing campaign content is needed.
The successful candidate will be driven by a need to put audiences at the heart of your campaigns. As the role is multi-faceted, you must be comfortable juggling priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with working in a charity sector and having basic HTML skills is advantageous.

Production Assistant at Octopus Publishing Group

Are you looking to kickstart your career in publishing? Octopus Publishing Group, a division of Hachette, is searching for a Production Assistant to join their production department.
In this role, you will work with the team on reprints and eBooks across the Octopus imprint. If you impress, there is the potential to progress to producing new titles. Responsibilities include the administration of Hachette Group IT systems (Biblio, SAP and B3 DAM), quality control of products and contributing to improving work practices.
Excellent communication skills are vital. You will be expected to discuss and report progress in regular meetings and liaise regularly with colleagues and external suppliers. You should have a meticulous eye for detail and stellar organisational skills. You should also have superb computer and numeracy skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate that they can work well as part of a team and that they can adapt and solve problems whilst managing their workloads.
Prior publishing experience is optional, but Hachette is looking for a candidate with a willingness to learn and improve. Children’s Communications Assistant at Faber

Working closely with the Children’s team, the Communications Assistant will provide general administrative and organisational support with a focus on publicity campaigns and social media. The role reports to the Children's Publicity Manager.
This is a great opportunity to learn about children’s publishing from within a leading independent house. It is a role for a creative and organised person with a love of children’s books and an interest in publishing and connecting books to readers. Admin experience is essential and a demonstrable passion and aptitude for social media would be an advantage.
Main responsibilities include:
General administrative and organisational support for the team e.g. booking travel for authors, assisting with mailings, handling publicity and marketing enquiries.
Supporting the team with organisation and promotion of events and launches
Assisting on key campaigns and working towards independently managing their own.
Building and managing relationships with bloggers, maintaining the children’s blogger database and co-ordinating blog tours.
Helping to maintain and grow the Faber Children’s social media channels.
This is a full time, permanent position, based in their central London office, with potential for hybrid working.
